… removed for use in a bridge. After this the tomb was eventually filled with drift sand. Even earlier than this the tomb should have been the object of investigation by a Latin priest. Since then it has been called by the population τάφος τοῦ Πατέρα. This seems however little likely. - The cemetery extends also on the other side of the road, where among others also the museum has opened tombs. On both sides of the road there are tombs all the way out to Amathus' acropolis, and in the other direction almost to the 49^de milestone. C. 400 m east of the 49^de milestone lies on the north side of the road an enormous tumulus, which perhaps limits the cemetery to the west. Headquarters is located at the perivolas Stavros' house near the 49^de milestone. The rats are here very numerous and noisy at night.
