Bronze Age Gold and Silver, plaque (L.417.13)

Embossed metal plaque with a standing figure wearing a banded headdress, above a cluster of rounded lobed shapes. — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, Csn3561. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A rectangular metal plaque photographed straight on against a grey card, with a raised relief of a small standing figure. The figure has a head with horizontal bands across the top, a simple face with eyes, nose and mouth, and bent arms with hands close to the body. Below the feet sits a flat base, and beneath it a cluster of rounded, lobed shapes arranged around a small centre; the surface looks hammered and uneven.
