Cypriote mining: rope and wood

Weathered wooden cylinder with a braided rope hanging across it, tied with thin cords against a plain grey background — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, Csn3091. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A weathered wooden object, roughly cylindrical and split along its grain, lies horizontally across the frame. A thick braided rope with a frayed end hangs down over the middle of the wood, and two thin cords are tied around the wood and suspended from above. The find is shown against a plain grey background.
