Description

A smiling man in a light open-necked shirt with rolled sleeves, a wristwatch and a cigarette in his hand stands at the edge of an excavation. Behind him, a second man in a striped shirt stoops at the trench edge, partly cut off by the left side of the frame. The trench wall shows layers of soil, with spoil heaps and a pick handle beyond.
