Man in a dark work coat with one hand on a broken rim fragment atop a large mended pottery vessel — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C08647. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A man in a long dark work coat stands beside a large reconstructed vessel on a wooden board, one hand resting on a loose rim fragment balanced on top. The rounded body has incised concentric arcs and horizontal grooves, and its surface is mended from many cracked sherds with pale filler between them. Tools and a stick lie on the board, with a bucket and a white tiled wall behind.
