Limestone Cypro-Greek I Vouni I-II

Limestone statue of a standing figure seen in side view, from Vouni — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C06417A. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A standing limestone statue of a figure seen in side profile, photographed against a plain pale backdrop that casts a soft shadow. The head has rows of curls and a large ear, and the figure wears a long garment with vertical pleats, one arm bent across the body. The feet in footwear stand on a rectangular stone base, and the pale surface looks weathered.
