Limestone Cypro-Greek I Vouni I-II, fragment (V. 579)

Description
A carved limestone head seen in profile facing right, with the neck cut off flat at the base. The hair is arranged in wide wavy bands drawn back over the head, with a coiled knot at the back, and a round disc earring with a star-like pattern hangs below the ear. The stone surface is pitted and worn, the nose and lips are partly damaged, and the photograph is mounted on a cream card with cut corners.
