Limestone head fragment from Kition, shown from the front, with a band of rounded knobs across its headdress — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C06327b. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A fragment of a limestone head with a rounded face, heavy-lidded eyes and a small mouth, shown from the front against a grey backdrop. The headdress has a row of rounded knobs or curls across the top and sides, and the pitted, worn surface shows the stone's texture. The lower neck is broken away.
