Terracotta Minor Plastic Animals

Terracotta figurine of a standing animal with long curved horns and short legs — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C06252. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A hand-modelled terracotta figure of a standing animal with a broad head, two long curved horns, small ears and incised lines on the muzzle. Its legs are thick and short, with a curved strand at the neck and a rounded projection under the belly. The matt grey-buff surface shows cracks, and the figure is photographed against a plain pale background with a small dark dot on the ground beside it.
