Pottery White Painted III-2 tankard (L.316.95)

Description
A single pottery jug with a wide rounded body, a short flared rim and a tall loop handle rising above the rim, its top notched. A small pierced lug projects from the shoulder on the right side. The checkerboard of pale squares on a darker ground and the chevron band at the shoulder are worn and flaking in places, and the jug stands against a plain pale backdrop.
