Glyptic (A.I.2212)

Stone scarab from Ayia Irini, seen from the side and mounted on a card — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C04413aaa. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A small photograph of an oval, rounded object seen from the side, mounted on a light card. A dark raised ridge runs across its upper part, and its surface looks worn and pitted, with darker shadows along the lower edge. The flat base is not shown, so the engraving cannot be seen, and a handwritten number appears above the mount.
