Glyptic (A.I.2057)

Oval stone seal or gem, shown in a blurred photograph on a pale card mount — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C04344m. Public domain (CC0).

Description

An elongated oval stone object with a rounded outline and a mottled grey surface, photographed from above. A faint vertical ridge divides the face into two parts, and some engraved marks are hard to make out because the image is soft. The photograph is mounted on a pale card with a narrow border, and handwriting is partly visible along the bottom edge.
