Glyptic (A.I.2260)

Glyptic find from Ayia Irini, a small dark stone object with a ridged upper surface — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C04079g. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A small dark stone object, rounded and uneven in outline, lies on a pale card mount. Its upper part shows raised, ridged forms, and several dark pits sit along the lower edge. The surface looks worn, and the soft photograph does not show any fine engraving clearly; a small number label is in the lower right corner.
