Pottery Red Polished III Bowl (L.307B.16)

Red Polished III bowl from Lapithos with incised chevron and dotted band decoration — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C04015b. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A rounded bowl with a wide body and a short rim sits on a plain light background, photographed from the side. Its grey-brown surface carries incised decoration: a band of dotted zigzags or triangles runs around the upper part, and bold chevron lines sweep across the lower body. Cracks run across the vessel, some of the surface is worn, and a small lug projects at the right edge.
