Limestone Neo-Cypriote

Description

A carved limestone head is shown in left profile, with a broad nose, a small mouth and a large ear. The cap covers the top of the head and is covered with rows of raised knobs framed by a band at the edge, and a long rounded mass projects backwards beneath it. The head rests on a plain block base against a draped grey cloth backdrop, and the surface is weathered and pitted on the cheek and chin.
