Limestone Neo-Cypriote, Ar

Limestone sculpture of a head with a tall headdress and worn face, seen from the front. — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C03489a. Public domain (CC0).

Description

Front view of a worn limestone head with a tall, rounded headdress that widens at the sides, shown against a pale background. The face has lost most of its detail, with pitted hollows where the eyes and mouth would be, and the surface is rough and grainy. Pale crusty deposits cover the lower neck and base.
