Description

A low wall of rough, irregular blocks runs across the foreground over a flat, dusty excavated surface. Behind it a bank of earth and rubble rises, with a large dense tree on the left and a stone-faced terrace or wall on the right. The landscape beyond is dry and open under a pale sky, and no people are shown.
