Pottery Red Polished III Bowl (L.322D.64)

Red Polished III bowl from Lapithos, side view, with incised chevron and vertical line decoration — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C03392a. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A rounded bowl with a wide body and a slightly narrowed upper edge, photographed side-on on a small pale stand. The dark surface is decorated with pale incised lines: chevron bands run along the rim, a panel of closely spaced vertical lines fills the centre, and zigzag motifs cover the sides. A small knob projects at the top centre, and some small pale dots are scattered on the surface.
