Small square of pale card or ceramic with a thick black ring-shaped mark, open at the bottom, on a cream backing — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C03223s. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A small square piece of pale, matt surface sits on a cream backing, filling most of the frame. A thick, soft-edged black ring, open along its lower side, dominates the centre. Small specks and a faint scratch are visible near the edges, and the surface looks flat rather than like a worked metal object.
