Limestone Cypro-Greek II, sculpture (K. 465)

Limestone sculpture fragment of a draped torso with a smaller figure carved at its right side — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C02929. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A broken limestone torso of a standing figure, photographed from the front against a plain background, with the neck cut off and the arm on the viewer's left reduced to a stump. Drapery falls in folds across the body to a jagged lower edge. On the right, a smaller partly carved figure with a face and eye rises alongside the torso, and a thin wooden stick props up the base at lower left.
