Pottery White Painted IV-V bowl (A.J.6.84)

White Painted IV-V bowl from Ayios Iakovos with a loop handle and dark painted checkered and banded decoration — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C02730. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A pottery bowl with a single loop handle rising above the rim, photographed at an angle that shows its open interior. The light buff surface carries dark painted decoration: a band of horizontal stripes on the left and a grid of small squares crossing the centre and running down towards the lower rim. The rim shows some wear, and the vessel stands on a plain pale background.
