Description

Excavated trenches expose low walls of stone and mud-brick, with cut-back soil and loose stones in the foreground. About a dozen people stand, sit and crouch around the trenches, some in light clothing and headcloths, and a wheelbarrow sits at the left edge. A flat, dry field and a few trees lie beyond, with low hills on the horizon.
