Description

Several soil sections are cut in stepped terraces across an excavated channel, with dark layered earth faces in the foreground. A pale, stone-filled cut lies to the right, and a wooden tripod-like frame with cords stands on the ground at upper left. Low hills, scattered trees and a bare, grassy slope fill the background under a bright sky.
