Description

A pale, level floor fills an excavated enclosure bounded by low walls of roughly cut stone blocks, with a small broken patch near the centre. Three people sit on the raised earth at the top of the cut, beside a grassy hillside under a pale sky. Loose stones and bare, dry earth surround the excavated area on the left.

Beyond, on the spoil heap at the top of the excavation, three people sit near a bucket, one wearing a straw hat. The steep slope behind is sparsely covered with scrub.
