Pottery White Painted I - II (L. 401:022)

White Painted jug with a loop handle and painted bands, from the Kastros tombs at Lapithos — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C01988b. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A jug with a single loop handle, a tall flaring neck and a rounded body on a low footed base, photographed against a plain pale background. Horizontal painted bands and a vertical hatched panel are visible on the shoulder and body, partly faded. A diagonal crack runs across the body, with pale lines suggesting an old repair.
