Lamps Terracotta (M.36.25)

Terracotta lamp from Marion, tombs 31–45, shown from the side on a pale surface — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C01879a. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A dark, smooth object with a rounded, heavy body and a shallow hollow across the top, photographed from the side on a pale surface. A small rounded projection sticks out at the right end, and a pale encrusted patch sits on the lower front. Its form fits a lamp with a nozzle, though it looks heavier and more bowl-like than a typical lamp.
