Description

Around ten people work at an excavated trench cut among large stone blocks and walling. Some dig with spades and hoes, others stand or crouch at the edges, and a wheelbarrow stands at the right. Behind them a green field, low hills and the sea stretch to the horizon, with small tents near the shore.

Description, scan 2
About eleven people dig at an excavation cut into a grassy field near the coast; several work with spades and hoes while others stand or sit at the edge. Large dressed stone blocks and wall foundations stand in the trench, and a barrow and tents appear in the background beside the sea. Low scrub-covered hills rise at the left.
