Description

Two men in khaki tunics, shorts, wrapped puttees and fez caps stand on either side of a pale limestone sculpture, each with a hand resting on it. Behind them a white canvas tent has its flap open, and stony hills rise in the distance over bare, rocky ground. The sculpture is a tall figure with drapery folds, and its head is not visible in the frame.

Two men in khaki uniforms with belts, wrapped leggings and fez caps stand on stony ground on either side of a pale limestone male statue, one man's hand resting on its top. The statue's upper part is partly hidden by the men's arms, and drapery folds show on its lower body. Behind them a white canvas tent with its flap open stands against low hills and scrubby bushes.

English, translated from the Swedish record

Two men dressed in uniform and fez (headgear). The men are called Moustafos and Mehmet. Between them is a male sculpture that both touch. The sculpture is made of limestone and is dated c. 480 BC. He wears a chiton with a V-neck and a himation over it. Cat. no. 291. Inv. no. V.6. Vouni palace. Copy photograph.

Två män klädda i uniform och fez (huvudbonad). Männen heter Moustafos och Mehmet. Mellan sig har de en manlig skulptur som båda vidrör. Skulpturen är gjord i kalksten och är daterad ca 480 f.kr. Han bär en chiton med V-ringning samt en himation över. Cat. no. 291. Inv. no. V.6. Vouni palace.
