Pottery White Painted I bowl (L.417.120)

White Painted I bowl from Lapithos, with two small handles and dark painted bands and panels on a pale surface — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C00189a. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A wide-mouthed bowl with two small handles, photographed against a dark background. The pale surface carries dark painted bands around the upper body, with vertical panels of cross-hatching and an X-shaped motif between them. The body narrows to a low foot, and visible cracks show where the vessel has been mended.
