Head of the Great Goddess with calathos (Classical period), SAL_4827, from the area south of the rampart, square K VI/γ4 (east); inventory Tc_1776. Terracotta head with neck, moulded hollow, pale pinkish-grey fabric, H. 14 cm; the right side of the face including the ear and the upper left corner of the calathos are missing, and the left wing of the nose is damaged. Hair drawn back in a continuous frontal roll, eyebrows marked, closed lips, and a calathos with a decorated band of reclining S-motifs alternating with large rosettes or cabochons and a lily-like floral motif; concave disc earring with small pendant and a necklace of small round beads. Pâte gris rose pâle. Moulée creuse bouche fermée, aux lèvres fortes et rectilignes. Cheveux fortement tirés en arrière, en bourrelet frontal continu d'une oreille à l'autre. Calathos au bord inférieur distinct, la base formant un bandeau épais, sur lequel est disposé le décor : une rangée d'S couchés contrariés et une rangée de grosses rosettes ou cabochons, en alternance avec un motif floral qui ressemble à une fleur de lys. Boucle d'oreille : pastille concave et petit pendant.
