English, translated from the French record

Upper fragment of a terracotta head, without the face, from the Classical period, in brown fabric with white-green slip; mould-made, hollow, with smoothed back. H. 5 cm. Only the marked brow ridge and the clearly outlined almond-shaped eye on the left side are preserved. The hair is in a pediment of fine raised locks with a chignon at the top, surmounted by a veil apparently supported by a stephane in the shape of a 'cap'; the back shows the veil with its lateral falls (wide bands of 1.4 cm). Veils laid directly on the hair. Inventory Tc_1658; negative 00776_02; slide C_4450; Salamis, south of the rampart, square K VI/δ3; 1 October 1968.
