Object card (SAL_1870) for a terracotta head of the Great Goddess with calathos, from the area south of the rampart, Classical period, square K VI/δ3, inventory Tc_0472 (object and sherds), photograph negative 01969_01, slide C_1781, plate PL_01, notebook page 12. The head is incomplete, with the start of the neck; almost all of the left half is missing, including the calathos, along a vertical break passing through the middle of the left eye and cheek. Beige fabric, hollow mould, H. 10.8 cm; the brow ridge is marked, the nose long and continuing the line of the forehead, the eyes almond-shaped with sharp outlines, the mouth closed and clearly drawn with raised corners, and the labial groove indicated. The hair is in thick, stiff locks with strong incisions converging towards the centre, where a knot or chignon was probably placed; a veil rests on the hair and falls back behind the ears. The calathos rises straight and has a distinct rounded band at its lower edge. Date: 31 March 1967.

Cheveux en grosses mèches raides (fortes incisions) convergeant vers le centre où devait se trouver une coque ou un nœud (même forme de brisure au front que sur la précédente). Voile posé sur les cheveux retombant sur les côtés en arrière des oreilles.
