Tonight I shall catalogue. No. of joins: 19 Total heads to date: 302 Nov. 24: I separated another basket of small parts out and labelled the groups, and gave Euthymios another to do this morning. Antonis worked as usual all day, aided by Kyriakos in the late morning and Euthymios in the afternoon; they worked, in true Thanksgiving spirit, very well today. Christos is now at work on the "soapy" terracottas, which will keep him busy awhile, if his slim patience will last out this very trying work. I finished the lamp catalogue this afternoon, and this evening catalogued the days headfinds. Number of joins: 31 Nov. 25: Antonis worked as usual on the head joins, with Nikos' help part of the day. Euthymios separated another basket of heads small pieces, and Christos has begun to find joins with the "soapy" terracottas. I have commenced cataloguing the sherds. No mar. Nov. 26-28, 1938 | 23. Christos worked with his terracottas and also cleaned the two bronze objects from the altar - the one, a small horse's body, is fairly clean now, the centaur needs further scraping and acid. In the workroom today I separated out all the bodies with heads attached, which definitely went into chariots, labelled them, & put them all together. No of finds: 12 Nov. 27: Sunday - this morning I catalogued and filled the potback pieces from yesterday, and afterwards took a few pictures of the head casts for experimental reasons. I left early to go to Fasouri, and accomplished little except getting the machine & focus set. Nov. 28: Today Christos + Euthymios did their usual work - Christos also cleaned the centaur more, but the rust within still remains. The workroom goes so slowly I decided further re-arrangement was needed, so spent the rest of the day in going through all the human bodies in V E I, dividing them now thus: 1. Bodies, with or without heads, broken off somewhere at or below the shoulders. 2. Bodies on horses, heads missing at neck. 3. Bodies on horses, head + shoulders broken 4. Bodies of horsemen ready for horses. 5. Horses which lack horsemen but once had them 6. Bodies broken above and below with nothing to show position.
