16. Nov.15-16, 1938 the morning, going through some baskets of bases, observing them more closely for evidence of person attached and separating once more within the basic group, this time into chariots and parts of chariots, small bases for horses legs only. My plan is to go through several baskets a day in this way whenever time presents. The arrangement is: Division within baskets of bases: a: Bases for horses feet only - loose in basket b: Bases for, and parts of, chariots - in labelled sack. c: Bases with parts of horses attached - " " " This afternoon I commenced the catalogue on page 107, and made some study of the inscribed terracotta which Christos has now joined. I leave the head separate for the time being, but have found one point where a pebble shows the join. Number of finds: 23 Nov. 16: Euthymios again washes, Antonis worked all day and joins, helped by Kyriakos and Niki a while in the afternoon. Christos works still on the unusual terracotta pieces and today joined from four pieces the body that goes with the fine Semitic caricature head. I separated another basket of bases and spent spent the rest of the day cataloguing and spent some time on the inscription again. The catalogue of daily joins now takes some time. The horsemen are being stored on the top

Number of joins: 18 Nov. 17. Today Christos worked on the lamps shed, of which there are unfortunately few joins, and also repaired some other pieces of pottery and the large horseman figure, our finest pieces. I have turned it over to the boys and offered two piastres for the head, but they don't believe it's there. It seems strange to me that it isn't - I'll leave it a day or so and then have a look myself before giving up. Christos also joined a few pieces of pottery and other bits. Euthymios finished washing the recent baskets this afternoon, which means practically all pieces are now washed. I've been cataloguing again today most of the time. Number of joins: 30 Nov. 18: Christos' prize join of the day was the finding of the fine horseman's head, which he saw in just passing by the racks where the boys work; now the essentials of this figures are in place. He has commenced work on the very difficult fragments of the soapylike clay figurines. Although the three men worked on joins all afternoon (Kyriakos, Antonis, and Euthymios) the joins were few
