14. Nov11 - Nov 13, 1938 Nov. 11: Euthymios again washed today, while Kyriakos, Antonis and in the afternoon Nikos, hunted for joins, with the result that Christos was busy almost all the day gluing heads to bodies. The joins continue to show a complete mix up throug hout the entire altar, and it begins to appear that the objects were thrown in at one time and probably smashed before hand - this of course must await proof. The first chariot complete with riders and driver appeared today, and I have begun and explained the catalogue on pp. 96 f. I again made casts in the evening. Number of joins: 36 Nov. 12: Euthymios finished washing today, and Christos nears the end of his work with the stone objects. Both Kyriakos, Antonis, Nikos and in the afternoon Euthymios, looked for joins all day. I removed my casts and repaired them, and ordered from the carpenter some small box wooden plaques, painted black, upon which I can mount them with their proper numbers. Number of joins: 39 Nov. 13: (Sunday). This morning Christos and George and I went out to Apollona to gather up pieces reputed to be lying on the ground about the altar. We gathered a basket and shall get the rest tomorrow. Of the pieces brought in, two

It also appears that the fill of terracottas extends under the lunate wall of the deposit, and will have to be excavated before the work can be completed and the study made. Mr. Fadden does not want to dig for some time, however, so we shall consider that section for now apart from our work. In the afternoon I made five casts again - I now have seventeen of the principal molds cast. Nov. 14: Today Antonis and Kyriakos worked at joining and Euthemios was set to washing the pieces brought in yesterday. I opened the casts of yesterday and boiled all of the casts in borax, which hardens them up considerably. Christos is now at work on the heavy and unusual terracottas and joined parts of three large horses among other, smaller joins. The work of joining the smaller pieces went more slowly today, both from lack of help (Kyriakos only came in the afternoon) and because the harder joins are now left. Number of joins: 16 Nov. 15: Euthymios again washed, Antonis and Kyriakos helped by Nikos in the afternoon, found joins. I began, in
