[sketchThe scarp of the extension Tr 43 (see p. 117) fully trimmed, and photographed see p. 117 17.17 (17.18?) there being a very good reflected light. The floor of the extension dug into. Fallen-in earth being removed seems to show an even stroma to the wall (?) at the back (NW) end. (not very even in surface, but continuous acc. to Christo, who maintains they found one thus last year.) This stroma photographed 17.15 & 17.16 (opposite) from SE, so that its scarp in Tr. 43 (over oblique entrance) shows. In this scarp there is some vertical cleavage slightly wider than the stomion below and directly over it. Inside its vertical sides earth seems looser, stonier. This difference not found in stroma which may go over its top, whether it is a real stroma or a surface baked from summer exposure. On the other hand Christo thinks the "cleavage" is just ravines made by water dripping in. Trimming over the stomion shows that there is a vertical line of difference over its / NE side; another not quite so clear or long on its left side. Digging through the stroma in this extension in order to see if it can be read in the NE scarp, o.p. stomion, and to and 15 on opp.]
