SherdsP 1585, 1460 28-29/V/41 stratum 1, to depth 1.00, upper brown earth over wall and floor and outside ground: medieval (see opp.) and later? Glaze! Roman rim piece [illegible] such as P 1586, 1596: above?

(24/V/41)

Small NE tomb (Efthimios with an assistant worked all day, mostly clearing bones.)

25/V/41 Sunday. 26, 27/V/41 I was in Nicosia, no work in the trenches.

28/V/41 Visitor, Judith Dobell. Trench 43/75 Removing the top stratum (above the stony layer) in area separating this trench from 43. On the NW side very clear in the straight scarp of 43/75 that this is homogeneous; seems clear also on the Tr. 43 side. Photographed 17.2-17.5 both sides. The earth is being taken down as convenient, so as not to fall onto the small NE 46 tomb being cleared below. Some sherds, including a little mediaeval (according to J.D.) glaze. Special phot. 17.7 in.g. 2 on opp. to show oblique late wall going into the earth, unfort. after much of it \earth above\ had been dug away.

Level outside (SW) of oblique [margin left: Forgot about nail at SE end. ]
