Sherds cont. P 1606 frg. of a saucer w. base ring under sunk center, surrounded by ridge and groove, of which whole profile pres. in other frgs. for lot \boxed{8} (flat-topped rim w. sl. inward slope; B buff clay, on which crackly whitish slip, on which matt paint variously black, red apply by accident of firing) One of the local ware saucer frgs. shows a sunk center set off by a ridge & groove (frg. in lot \boxed{8}). Note remark at beginning of descr. of lot \boxed{8} about the "piece of bowl with drops of glass on it" [illegible]. fr./ op p. 105. A rim frg. of a P 1605 local ware saucer found in this lot \boxed{7} has glass drops both inside & out. In general however the late bits mentioned, seem definitely a Hall rather than a Roman fill. 20/XI/41
