99 (21/v/41) (S cut) Efthimios cleared away small stones from over flasks etc. together with brown earth, to the hard white stuff surrounding them to S - E; a little of the white to the S cut away when I wasn't looking. The deposit as cleared is a heap of fragments (mostly of the conical flasks and their comrades, but also a glass Gl 58 flask and its (?) P 1546 neck, separate, P 1588 frags. of bowl (?) a small ribbed handle) mixed with more small rubble stones as wide as a fist. The piece of bone is on the floor near the scarp of 43. Photographed the deposit (with a knife - brush for scale). (See opposite) p. 106

100 (21/v/41) Tomb 9 Small NE tomb Sokrates goes down and pulls away the fill, begining at the S side. Seems not to extend far in. Earth + stones of fill pulled up in baskets.

The small stone fill (disintegrated fallen conglomerate of the torrent fill) left under it a covering of brown earth, uneven surface, and a rising toward SW. Bones cleared them first by Christi. 2 cans, bones and a red jug emerge from it. On this probably SH 647 18 surface large fragments, amphor of which I think parts removed (Not found) last year. Also some bones damaged by using this tomb last year as an entrance to Tomb 1. Bone, covered by a sack and earth, just within the line of the doorstone, [illegible] frags. of cranium at the W corner of the tomb as preserved, at edge to Tomb 1.
