Remove the sections of tumble left in the N-W + N-E corners, and by the wall to 4:2. The stones of tumble lie on a light brown level a few centimeters over the 10.00 = 10.02 floor. In the N-E corner, we find fragments of a pot in situ in a pit sunk through the accumulated level. Other sherds, apparently of the same pot, lie on tumble near it. Photo 209, showing pithos sherd in pit.

8-4-38 Clean further on the 10.00 = 10.02 floor, finding that the crushed stone floor is preserved only in a few places. In the rest its place is taken by greyish sandy earth. A pit is found against the west wall. Photo 211, 212 of 4:9 after further cleaning on 10.00 = 10.02 floor

Dig below 10.00 = 10.02 floor, finding rock in the north, a well trod floor of sandy brown earth with white + red spots, + ash, at 10.17 It runs to the E wall and is cut at the edge of the preserved S. wall. The S-E corner of the wall has been mutilated; loose red earth went down from 10.00 = 10.02, reaching stones some 5 cm. below the 10.17 floor.
