consistent red level, almost certainly trod, at 10.64.

30.3.38 Clear in the line of the wall to 2:10, finding a very firm clayey pack. Photo 191 of 2:11 at 10.64. Clear the SW wall of 2:10 & 2:11

31.3.38Find numerous stones on the W wall, set in red clay. The change to grey earth in the "E. wall" was found at the 10.64 level only, and thus is not likely to represent a wall. Dig below 10.64, finding a consistent firm level at 10.67 = 10.70 sandy with considerable yellowgreen clay. The tops of large stones appear at this level.

Clean the 10.67 = 10.70 level, removing a centimeter or so of earth, and finding a firm floor everywhere

4.4.38 Photo 203 of 10.67 = 10.70 cleaned further. Dig below 10.67 = 10.70, through packed earth with much soft sandstone, and find a firmer floor of grey-brown earth at 10.76
