29.3.382:13 + In wall from p. 129
Clear to close to S. end of E. wall of 2:22, and a section north of the old "Unit in Circuit wall". Between the E. wall of 2:22 and the W. wall of "In wall" find a consistent red level over the stone fill. It looks like brick debris. It and a greyish level over it go under the E. wall of 2:22. The grey is at 11.23; the red at 11.42. In "In wall", North, the archaic (?) stone fill goes down in gummy brown earth, stopping over a consistent red level, apparently brick debris, at 11.64- 11.73. There are numerous sherds on this red level. At the east it is cut by the gummy stone fill. See cross-section for greater accuracy
The grey floor in 2:13 proper is at 11.28 (S-E) = 11.53 (N-E). In the center north it dips to 11.74.
30.3.38Photos 185-188 of 2:13, etc. at these levels.
Digging below 11.23 in the section just east of the E wall of 2:22, we find a consistent intermediate layer at 11.35. It is quite mixed, with red clayey earth, some green particles, and much ash. The E. wall of 2:22 rests on this layer. It rises sharply in the W. under the wall. (to p. 149
