2:27 Start to clear pit in E "wall" Photos Bam 161-163 ~ of 2:27 before digging pit. The pit is a shallow circular depression, filled with gritty red earth. It is cm. deep. Clean in the line of the inner (lower) wall to 2:28, finding a hard packed bed continuing the line of the wall, and quite distinct from either the floor in 2:27 or the Bougiab under the cement floor of 2:28. In this line of the wall find only one sherd, nondescript : discarded. This tor wall bed stops in a line where the cement floor of 2:28 is cut, at the S-W corner. There is an intrusion of red earth at this point into both 2:28 (as above) and the line of the wall. Clear it out. (See photo Bam. 141, p. 72 for location of intrusion)
24.3.38 2:27 continue clearing the intrusion in the S.W. corner. The rather loose red earth stops at a firm clayey earth with numerous white particles, similar to that of the S wall base. This is probably wall base, and the disturbance was caused by the removal of stones.
