Unit 28, cont'd from p. 71:

so called "10.98" floor. It is quite shallow & narrow; it is cut, below the limestone, through the clayey, grey earth below that floor, floor and stops at that same earth. In the west it is filled with the same grey earth with an admixture of brown. At the inner line of the inner east wall of unit 26, the baugrab is 4 or 5 centimeters deeper and is filled with very ashy dark grey earth.

After removing the floor we clear to another floor at 10.95 (0.80 from W. of unit - rest not dug now) = 11.28. In the extreme west we find the crushed rock fill found in units 25 A + B, south. Beyond this is a firm grey-brown level with sand and many small limestone grits. A little beyond the middle of the room is crossed by a band of red brick, dipping in the center as the floor did above. E. of the brick there is the same earth as west of it, but it is more ashy.
