10.32 = 11.50Unit 21 North: continue cutting through the red strosis, p. 66, #2. Near the south end of the E. wall of unit 26 we find a harder patch with gravel. In the north the red earth runs up on and stops at the grey earth mentioned on p. 71, both at the N-W corner and following the line of the S wall of unit 28. The grey earth slopes under the red, and is therefore earlier. Strosis #2 of unit 24 etc. is more recent than the earth below the continuing the to 89 = 11.32 level of unit 28 east.
Unit 8: Dig out pit #1. In the top there is a great deal of fallen roof matter, as noted above?, but we soon come to loose dark red-brown earth, sandy with many stones. At ca. 0.80 the pit becomes narrower and the earth becomes greyer & harder. The stones continue. An oval shaft goes down, with steps cut into the sides. Dig to a depth of 2.20 today The pit does to a depth of 3.10 M.
