28-4-37 | TRENCH 2 | (121) from p. 119 particles. This seems to be the same as the 9.26=9.65 level in unit 24.
Photo Bam 96 of to unit 17 at 10.91:1105 before removing fallen stones of N. wall. (see p. 114) Photo Bam 97 of unit 17 at 10.91=11.05, cleared.
Unit 17: Clear the 10.91=11.05 floor. In places it is bed-rock, in others it is decomposed rock with some earth. The SW corner (10.91) is higher; the N-W is at 11.03. Along the east side is the platform of brick and stone already mentioned; in the center of the N. side a large limestone slab forms the floor. In the center is a large pit (#1) filled with stones and decomposed sandstone with some earth. Start cleaning this
Unit 18: Start digging through the floor of decomposed sandstone at 10.62=10.70 (called wrongly 10.66=10.72 on p. 93: measurements were not made at the highest points W+E.). It is a deep fill of pure sandstone, looking very much like bed-rock. (to p. 123)
