2:5 at 9.35=9.47, showing objects in situ (Period 2) The parts of the wall marked 3+4 are rebuildings corresponding with the Period 3 (9.06: 9.46) and Per. 4 (8.95 = 9.05) floors. The earth in the door was disturbed by a recent intrusion.

8.4.37 from p. 61 Unit 14: Find a level of sandy red-brown, fairly firm level, at 10.00 = 10.10. A number of loose stones go on through it, so it is probably not a floor, but only a level in tumble.

Unit 15: Find a level, similar to that in unit 14 (10.00 = 10.10) at 10.43 = 10.45. Isolate a raised platform in the S-W corner, built of stones & sun-dried brick, with a surface of lime. The awl, p. 58, #2 was on this platform. On the S. wall find a bit of the ancient facing of red clay, ca. thick, burnt black on the surface. The top of the platform is at 10.20. The 10.43=10.45 is a clear level, perhaps a floor, with red-brown sand. Unit 16: Open a square 4x4 N of unit 3, and 2 m. north of units 14 + 15. At 9.60 (N-W) = 9.86 (line of wall between units 3+14) find brown earth, and isolate two intrusions.

9.4.37 Stop work at 8:30 because of rain.

10.4.37 Unit 14: Another level of fairly firm sandy brown earth. Several fallen bricks (mostly grey - one red) lie on it. 10.17 = 10.19, lower in west than east. Dig through it. (To p. 65)
