Clear the wall between units 9 + 10, and between units 1 + 11. The latter wall is of small stones insecurely laid, at the 9.40 = 9.53 level (unit 1). Below this is fill or fallen matter (earth), and then, its top at 9.85, another wall, of large stones, following approx the same line.

Photos Bam 25-27 of unit 9, etc.

Dig through the 9.52 level in unit 7. The poor row of stones between this and unit 2 apparently represent a wall, for other stones appear beneath. Find a level at 9.62, apparently trod. Some sherds of the pithos #3 (map, p. 160) lie on it. Change sherds and proceed on down.
