18-4-35| North Rooms Dig in [underline: R-Γ'] 'θ'-'i', in a hard wind with heavy dust. No small finds. The region seems to have suffered greatly during its latest occupation. The several floor levels mentioned on p. 43, while excavating Room R are all in reality one strosis: the base of a mosaic now destroyed, and of which we found many fragments in the fill. It is in very variable state; worn to almost nothing in some parts. No coins were found right on the firmest part; but 2, nos. 19 & 20, were found on an occupationlevel of brown soil ca. 0.05 above it. This was the level at the date of these coins.
