16-4-35NORTH ROOMS
TYf'2 In the loose brown fill of this room (Room K) were a great many fragments of mosaic - of good work in small stones. At 0.60 below the "window" is a piece of a floor of lime, sand, and river sand. At 0.80 below the "window" is a floor of hard-packed earth, often replaced by bed-rock. On this were many coins and other objects. At 0.65 below the "window" the wall becomes rough. The original floor must have been at this level. It was destroyed. Next the lowest floor mentioned was used. Later the floor was raised to the level the of 0.60 mentioned. This, again has been largely destroyed, but is the latest floor we have found here. It is quite uneven.
Margin left: See p. 47 for modified view
In Yf' there is a layer ca. .05 deep, over the upper floor, of clay of the sort used today for roofs (authority: Christo). At the post in Φ it changes: the clay stops, and roof-tiles, conspicuously absent in Yf', are found directly upon the floor.
Φ f' on floor - coin [illegible]
17-4-35The "window" is the lower part of a doorpost, framing the same door as the post in Φ. Continue clearing room K, with, as yesterday Christo uncovering the floor.
